Today was yet again another rainy day in Bolton. I had to go into town to pay a couple of bills so I parked up on Dawson Lane just off St Georges rd down beside the ugly flats. That statement is what most people I have met have had to say about the block of flats that appeared on the Bolton skyline around 20 years ago. Today I must admit to having seen this architectural achievement in a totally different light. The rooves are blue and have a bevel and the walls are curved with spiral stairways on the outside on one particular block. The lighting was really good considering the rain. I’m led to believe they are part of some youth scheme called “B.A.S.E” and so I will now have to take a trip into the offices to find more information on this housing for the young.
